LSU’s search for an offensive lineman here in the final
months before National Signing Day has led coach Greg Studrawa to Cullman, Ala.
for offensive guard Spencer Region.
On Monday, Studrawa visited Cullman Senior High for his
first in-person trip to see Region during the open recruiting period.
“It was really good to see coach Stud come over,” Region
said. “We talked about a little bit of everything. They have started to get
into the swing of things for their bowl, so he was excited about that.
“He also got a chance to meet with some of the teachers here
at the school. I think everything went really smooth. He’s definitely one of
the college coaches I get along with best.”
A one-time Auburn commitment, the 6-foot-6, 345-pounder said
that he is now down to two schools.
“It’s pretty much LSU and Wisconsin,” he said. “I like both
schools, and in January I will take a couple of visits and then see how I feel.
I still have schools like Georgia and Ole Miss coming over, but it’s down to

“The atmosphere is the craziest that I have ever seen,”
Region said. “Coach Miles has that swagger, so I love what he brings to the
table. And coach Stud said he wants the best offensive line in the nation, and
I’m honored that he is pushing for me to become a part of it.”
While he hasn’t set dates for his January visits, the nation’s
No. 25 ranked guard said that plenty rides on what he experiences next month.
“I’ve gotten a feel for LSU, but that visit to Wisconsin will
really give me a good feel for how things are and where I should commit to,” he
said. “I’m excited for it to get here. Coach Stud said he would be recruiting
me the whole way through.”
