Henderson named to All-Spring team

Henderson totals 146 yards in the spring game

LSU wide receiver Devery Henderson has earned a spot on The Sporting News' All-Spring team, the publication announced this week.

Henderson, a senior from Opelousas, La., returned to action this spring after missing LSU's final two games of the 2002 season with a broken arm. Henderson led all LSU receivers with 17 receptions for 251 yards in scrimmage action during the spring.

Henderson caught seven passes for 146 yards, including a 64-yard TD reception in the LSU Spring Game.

Henderson enters the 2003 season as one of LSU's two starting wide outs. Last year, Henderson played in 11 games and caught 23 passes for 447 yards and a team-best eight touchdowns. Henderson's most memorable play came on the 75-yard last-second reception against Kentucky that gave the Tigers a 33-30 victory.

For his career, Henderson, who originally came to LSU as a running back, has caught 24 passes for 449 yards and eight scores, while rushing for 396 yards and three touchdowns.
