The trio of Jonathan Bullard, Dante Fowler and Antonio Morrison combined to make 84 tackles this season, combined for five starts and were the only freshmen on the Florida defense to play in all 12 games this season.
Bullard made 26 tackles on the season, including five tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. He also added one pass breakup and a team-high seven quarterback hurries. His best game came when he made seven tackles against Vanderbilt.
Fowler made 27 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks. He added one quarterback hurry on the season. Fowler’s breakout game was against Missouri where he had a season-high five tackles and two tackles for a loss.
Morrison made 31 tackles on the season to lead the trio of freshmen and finish eighth on the team. His best game came against Florida State with four tackles and a forced fumble, which flipped the momentum of the game and helped the Gators cruise to a strong fourth quarter.
D.J Humphries was one of four offensive linemen that earned a spot on the list. He played in every game this season, adding starts against Louisiana, Missouri and South Carolina.
