Carter sets three visits

Cethan Carter

2013 prospect Cethan Carter from nationally-ranked Louisiana 5A state champ Archbishop Rummel is ranked among the top 10 fullbacks in the nation, but reports a switch in recruiting emphasis to tight end after adding 10 pounds of muscle and an inch in height over the past several months. Cethan Carter is enjoying the holidays in Florida.

"We're playing in a basketball tournament in Destin," he said. "We won tonight and play in the championship on Monday. It's my first couple of games back with basketball. I had a sprained ankle after the state championship."

Carter helped Archbishop Rummel to a perfect undefeated season on the gridiron - and a final national ranking of No. 40 in the Top 50 compiled by Director of Scouting Scott Kennedy.

"It started way back in the offseason when we put in the work," Carter said of the run to the Superdome.

He talked about three scheduled official visits.

"I'm visiting UL on the 18th (January), Nebraska on the 11th and LSU on the 28th or 29th (possibly 25th)," Carter said. "I like the way UL uses their tight ends. That's one reason I like them. Another is Lafayette isn't too far from home, and it's not too close to home.

"I'm real excited about getting an offer from a good school like Nebraska. I worked so hard for it."

Carter has a greyshirt offer from LSU.

"A greyshirt wouldn't be too bad for me because I just turned 17," he said, "and LSU was one of my favorite schools growing up."
