LSU Basketball defeats Bethune Cookman
LSU got off to a quick start and were leading Bethune Cookman by 15 or more points for most of the first half. The Wildcats eventually trimmed the LSU lead to just eight at halftime.
Andrew Del Piero had a solid first half for LSU, after getting the start in the game. He finished the game with ten points and two blocks. Del Piero is starting develop more and more with each game he plays in, and it is starting to become very apparent.
Shavon Coleman had yet another double-double in the game, as he finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Coleman was an integral piece in the fast start by LSU against the Wildcats, and he played consistently throughout the matchup. Anthony Hickey also matched Coleman with 14 points of his own, to go along with three assists and four steals.
The leading scorer for the Tigers was Charles Carmouche. He finished the game with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Carmouche did all of this while sitting out several parts of the game after getting into foul trouble, one of which resulted in a technical foul.
Overall, LSU had a good game on offense. The Tigers finished the game 30-57 (52.6%) from the field. They also shot 7-19 (36.8%) from behind the three-point line. LSU also bested the Wildcats in rebounds, 35-32.
LSU will now have several days of rest before taking on Auburn in the SEC opener for the Tigers on Wednesday.
