Robinson reconsidering his options
The Seminoles have lost six assistant coaches since the season ended in December, two being Robinson's lead recruiters. When former offensive coordinator James Coley and former running backs coach Eddie Gran left the program, that erased the biggest link Robinson had to Florida State.
"When I took my visit, I liked how they treated me," Robinson said. "I liked the coaches, and Coach Gran was a big part of me committing to them. Now that he left, I'm more open. He was the main reason why I committed to Florida State."
Now that Robinson is exploring what else is available, he mentioned three programs that are in the mix along with Florida State — LSU, Florida and Georgia.
Of those three, he said the Tigers are one of the early leaders.
"LSU has always been one of my favorite schools since I was small," Robinson said. "I grew up watching LSU. Purple is my favorite color, and that's always been my dream school."
On his two other big suitors…
"The [Florida] coaches are very cool," Robinson said. "They have a great offense that they run. Percy Harvin is one of my all-time favorite players. And Chris Rainey, I've talked to him before. They told me good things about the program…
"I like Georgia because I have family that lives there, and they're a big, strong program," he continued. "I like how they run things over there, and I plan on taking a visit over there. Their coaching staff is real down to earth."
In addition to visiting Georgia some time in the near future, Robinson said he will make a trip to Florida this weekend, and hopes to hit Baton Rouge in the spring or summer.
He said all of those programs are mostly recruiting him as an athlete right now, though he could wind up playing wide receiver, safety or even come out of the backfield.
But with all the attention he's started to receive from other programs, has he officially ruled out Florida State?
"I'm very open, but I'm still committed to Florida State," Robinson said. "But I am open to everybody…
"[Florida State] still wants me," he added. "The coaching changes affected my decision very much. When Coach Coley and Coach Gran left…that was a big change for me. But I'm still thinking about Florida State."
