Florida blasts LSU, 80-58

LSU G Charles Carmouche

The Tigers got down big at half and couldn't climb back against Erik Murphy and Florida in the second. Murphy scored a career-high 27 points in guiding the Gators to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament.

LSU's ride in Nashville has come to an end.

The Tigers were outclassed by No. 13 Florida, 80-58, in Nashville on Friday, paced by 27 points and 12 rebounds from first-team All-SEC big man Erik Murphy.

Senior Charles Carmouche was the only LSU player in double digits, scoring 14 points.

With the loss the Tigers drop to 19-12 overall and will have to sweat it out until Sunday evening to learn about their NIT fate.

Florida, the top-seeded team in the conference tournament, improved to 25-6 overall and will play in one semifinal game tomorrow at noon.
