Rhaheed commits to LSU
Rhaheed made a verbal pledge to Defensive Backs Coach Corey Raymond, his area recruiter, but the staff wanted to bring him to campus before acknowledging the commitment. Rhaheed made that trip, and after a meeting with the coaches, he became the eighth member of LSU's 2014 class.
"I just like the school," Rhaheed said last week. "They have a lot to offer and I can't wait to be with the team."
Rhaheed spent most of Tuesday touring campus and attended LSU's spring practice. After that session wrapped up, he met with the coaching staff, who made his commitment official.
Rhaheed hails from Fort Pierce, Fla., playing numerous positions on the defense at Fort Pierce Central HS. He's ranked as a three-star DE by Scout, though LSU will be taking him as an OLB.
He was recently measured at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds at the Orlando NFTC, and most expect he can add a significant amount of weight to his frame. He's a speedy edge rusher with great length that should translate well to OLB on the next level.
