The Tigers never got in sync during Tuesday night's conference opener versus Tennessee, falling to the Volunteers, 68-50. Jordan Mickey led the way for LSU (9-4, 0-1) with 14 points and five blocks in a losing effort.

For the second straight game, it wasn't LSU's night in the PMAC.

After falling 74-70 to Rhode Island on Saturday, Johnny Jones' squad flat-lined versus Tennessee (10-4, 1-0) in both team's SEC opener Tuesday night, with the Tigers (9-4, 0-1) on the wrong end of a 68-50 decision.

The Volunteers' Antonio Barton, Jordan McRae and Jarell Stokes combined for 48 of Tennessee's 68 points.

LSU got 14 points, four rebounds and five blocks from freshman Jordan Mickey, who coach Johnny Jones said after the game is the only Tiger player bringing it game in, game out as well as in every practice.

The Tigers struggled to make shots from the field, finishing 36.7 percent shooting and missed all but two of their 14 three-point attempts.

LSU will try to get back into the win column Saturday at South Carolina.
