LSU Baseball Media Day

LSU opens the 2014 season in two weeks, and the Tigers hosted their annual Media Day on Friday to kick off the year. Paul Mainieri and the players spoke with the media to preview this year's team.

LSU unofficially opened the 2014 season on Friday with the Tigers' annual Media Day, where Paul Mainieri and the players previewed the upcoming year.

The Tigers kick off the season in two short weeks with hopes of returning to Omaha and the College World Series. But gone are players like Mason Katz, Raph Rhymes and Chris Cotton. This year's team will have a new look but the same expectations.

"There's no hiding the fact we lost a lot of outstanding players from last year's team," Mainieri said. "A lot of big shoes to fill, but around here, people don't want to hear excuses. They just want to see you reload."

Mainieri met with the media for about 50 minutes during a press conference. You can get all the notes and quotes by clicking the link below, and stick with TSD for more previews of the 2014 LSU Baseball team over the next two weeks.
