HOOVER, Ala. - Senior back Terrence Magee met with reporters Wednesday inside the Wynfrey Hotel. Below is a one-on-one video TSD shot with the Franklinton native, who discussed Leonard Fournette's impact and the LSU offense this fall.
All that and more below.
Publisher's Note: For whatever reason the audio isn't cooperating on the end of the above video, so I'm going to transcribe what Magee had to say about Fournette, the LSU offense and the QB battle.
TM: Leonard Fournette, where can I begin? He comes in very highly decorated, and I'm excited to see him play. He's going to be electrifying in the backfield this year.
BL: What's he been like this summer? Not just on the field, but how has he gotten along and gotten used to college life? And have you kinda taken him under your wing a little bit?
TM: Oh yeah. Kenny [Hilliard] and I have taken both of the freshmen under our wings. Coach Frank [Wilson], he sets up in the meeting room to where we're sitting by a young guy. Kenny has Darrel [Williams] and I have Leonard. So throughout the summer we've been going through the playbook with them, trying to teach them the ropes and show them how things go. As far as academically, both of them are doing a great job and I feel like they're adjusting to the college life very well.
BL: You think the LSU offense may look a little different this year with two mobile quarterbacks? And will you guys be asked to do some different or additional things at running back?
TM: You know for the most part our offense is going to be the same. There's going to be a little difference at quarterback. We're going to have a little bit more mobility, but I think they're going to do a great job. I tell you what, they're making it tough for Coach Cam [Cameron] to decide who's going to be the starter game one.
