HOUSTON - LSU under Les Miles has made no bones about its intentions on playing true freshmen early and often.
In the last two seasons the Tigers have brought a combined 29 first-year freshmen to the field, both times ranking top five in the nation.
Earlier this week Miles suggested LSU would play "six to 12" true freshmen in tonight's opener versus Wisconsin, with as many as six slated to play key roles, per the Tigers' tenth-year head coach.
Now that the game has come and gone, the magic number turned out to be eight.
