LSU and the
Wildcats will meet at the Maravich Assembly Center on Sunday, Feb. 29, at 3 p.m.
in a game regionally televised on CBS Sports.
Coach Brown was the
head coach at LSU from 1972-1997 and took the Tigers to two NCAA Final Fours
(1981, 1986), 4 SEC Titles (1979, 1981, 1985, 1992), 13 NCAA Tournaments
(including a then SEC record 10 straight) and has the second most wins behind
only Adolph Rupp in conference history, 448.
The Southeastern
Conference is honoring Brown at the SEC Tournament in Atlanta as one of the
league's Living Legends of college basketball, honoring former players and
coaches from the teams in the league. SEC officials will be on hand for the
ceremonies honoring Coach Brown at halftime of the LSU-Kentucky game.
All former LSU
players who played during Coach Brown's tenure are invited and encouraged to
attend the game. Former players wishing to attend the game should contact Wanda
Carrier at the LSU Athletic Director's Office at 225-578-3600 by Thursday,
Feb.26 at 5 p.m.
