LSU coach Les Miles officially announced his complete staff in a 3 p.m. press conference Wednesday.

Miles had already assembled most of his staff, but was still in the process of interviewing three defensive coaches and those three hires were made official Wednesday.

While it was already known who Miles would bring on board as his defensive coordinator, cornerback and defensive line coaches, the first-year coach introduced the trio to the media on the fifth floor of the athletic administration building.

Bo Pelini will replace Will Muschamp as LSU’s defensive coordinator, Miles announced. Pelini comes to Baton Rouge after spending the last year as co-defensive coordinator at Oklahoma. Before that he spent time in the NFL as an assistant coach with the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots before moving onto Nebraska, where he served as defensive coordinator and interim head coach in 2003 when the Huskers fired coach Frank Solich.

Other additions are former Middle Tennessee State defensive coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto, who will coach special teams and cornerbacks at LSU, and former LSU All-SEC defensive lineman Karl Dunbar, who will coach the Tigers’ defensive line.

Dunbar spent the 2003 season as an assistant on Miles’ staff at Oklahoma State before spending the previous year with the Chicago Bears. Dunbar played at LSU from 1986-89.

Peveto spent two seasons as the DC at MTSU from 2003-04 and before that was the co-defensive coordinator at Houston from 1999-2002. That Cougar team defeated LSU 20-7 in 1999, which was subsequently Gerry DiNardo’s final game as head coach.
