Right-handed pitcher/third baseman Chris Sorce of Pace (Fla.) High School has signed a national letter-of-intent with the LSU baseball program.

Sorce is scheduled to enroll at LSU this fall.

Sorce, a 6-1, 190-pound all-state performer, has posted a 9-1 record and a 1.71 ERA this season with 84 strikeouts. He is also batting .345 with one homer and eight RBI.

Sorce was named a 2006 high school pre-season all-American, and he is ranked in the academic top ten percent of his senior class.

He also played quarterback for the Pace High football team, leading his squad to 2005 district and regional titles.

Sorce becomes the 21st LSU baseball signee scheduled to join the Tigers this fall. LSU signed 20 prospects during the fall recruiting period in November.
