Reports have surfaced that LSU picked up its eighth commitment today when Lancaster (Texas) offensive guard Anthony Morgan pledged his services to the Tigers.

Tiger Rag has talked to two different parties close to the situation and we have received two different stories.

Lancaster recruiting coordinator Cliff Keeling gave his version of the story in favor of LSU.

"Anthony came up to me after he talked with coach (Todd) Monken and said coach I did it," Keeling said. "He said he committed to LSU. I said son are you sure and he said yes sir I'm sure. I said well tell everybody you are a Tiger."

After making numerous calls to Morgan's residence to confirm that he did indeed choose the Tigers we got a different story from his father.

"I don't think he committed verbally," said Mr. Morgan. "He was talking about it with his coaches but I don't think he did. I talked to him late this evening after practice and he didn't say anything about it.

"To tell you the truth, I hope he hasn't because schools are just starting to really find out about him. I don't want him to make a quick decision without hearing what everybody has to say. Nothing against LSU, I just don't want him to do anything without thinking about it."

Tiger Rag will have more on this story later this evening.
