Dez Bryant looking to get to LSU

Todd Monken is looking for playmakers

Standout wide receiver Dez Bryant hasn't set up any official visits yet, but is very excited about getting an opportunity to visit LSU; so much in fact, that he told Tiger Rag that he wants to get to Baton Rouge ASAP.

"I haven't gotten anything set up yet, but LSU is going to be one for sure," said Dez Bryant, who has more than 400 yards receiving so far this year to go along with his six touchdowns. "My top priority is getting to LSU right now. I've been wanting to get up there for the longest. They will be the first school I visit."

Bryant said he also plans to take visits to Oklahoma and Florida State.

"Right now, none stand out above the others," said Bryant. "They are all the same right now. It is all going to depend on when I take my visits and then I will have a better idea of where I want to go. If I had to pick a leader, though, it would be LSU because I have a better relationship with the coaches there than the other places."

The Lufkin (Texas) native explained why he is so eager to visit LSU.

"I want to take a visit there because they are a good team who passes the ball a lot," he said. "They also have a good defense, which helps the offense get back on the field quickly. I watched the Auburn game and I was pulling for LSU because they are one of my top teams."

Bryant said all three of his top schools have a common thread.

"I think that I could fit in well in all of those offenses," said Bryant. "They all run and pass 50/50, and I think that's important. You can't win games by just running the ball all the time. You have to stretch out the defense with some pass plays."

LSU's proven track record of making players better is also a draw for Bryant.

"I want to go somewhere where they'll make something out of me," said Bryant. "I want to get on the field early. I don't just want to be watching from the sidelines."

One thing that has been in question with the 4-star wide out is his grades but Bryant said that he has picked up the pace and is having a real good year in the classroom.

"My grades are strong right now and I signed up for both the ACT and SAT," he said. "I have a strong feeling I'm going to do well on those tests and pass them both."
