Jones enjoyed LSU trip and wants to go back

Phelon Jones loved Tiger Stadium

4-star cornerback Phelon Jones (6-0, 190, 4.4) made his initial trip to Tiger Stadium this weekend and his first experience was everything he expected and more.

"The atmosphere was crazy," said Phelon Jones. "We were down on the field when the Alabama people came out and, man, it was just crazy. It was the loudest I've ever heard."

Although the Mobile (Ala.) native thought he might get an offer this weekend, he didn't.

"The coaches told me that they want to get some game film from this year," he said. "The head coach needs to look at the film and just see me playing."

Jones said he was able to talk to Les Miles before and after the game.

"He just pointed out the DB's and told me what their names were and what classification they were and we kind of talked about depth chart stuff," said Jones. "After the game we talked about me coming and playing at LSU."

During the game, Jones said he kept a close eye on Chevis Jackson.

"Chevis and I are pretty cool," said Jones. "I watched him the most. He made some big plays and the defense really stepped up. It seemed like when Alabama started to get closer to the goal line, the defense would step up and stop them."

Jones said that he has plans on returning for an official visit, but said he will wait until the end of his high school season before he sets up anything.

The other schools he is looking to set up visits with are Florida, Miami, Virginia Tech and Auburn.
