Fullbacks are not is as much demand as they once were but when college coaches find a good one they will snatch him up in a heartbeat.

Springfield (La.) product Zeke Jones (6-0, 235, 4.6) fits the bill for what coaches are looking for as he is a tough runner between the tackles and he doesn't mind doing the little things that often go unnoticed with fullbacks.

As a junior, Jones was a first team all-state selection and was voted offensive MVP in his district. He ran for 1,625 yards and scored 20 touchdowns while averaging just under eight yards a carry.

Jones does not have to block much in Springfield's offense because he shoulders the load in the running game but when he was called to do so he was very effective.

"We give him the ball because he is our best runner," said Springfield coach Spencer Harris. "He is so tough to stop when he has the ball in his hands and will only get better the more he learns to use his powerful body. We don't ask him to block much but when we do he punishes people. He also catches the ball well and will only get better in that department too."

Jones has not picked up any early offers but he is hearing from LSU, Southern Miss, Georgia Tech, Georgia and all of the in-state schools.

Whichever school lands this talented kid will be getting a good one on and off the field.

"He is an extremely strong young man that is driven to be the best," Harris stated. "He will graduate as a 17 year-old and is still growing and maturing. His future potential is unlimited."

By the Numbers: (Jr.) 231 rushes for 1,625 yards and 20 TDs/320-Bench/475-Squat/265-Clean
