“These two coaches are just what we were looking to complete this staff,” Chancellor said. “Travis brings a great deal of experience to LSU from both the college and pro levels, while Yolanda has coached at all levels of the college game. Both have been very successful everywhere they have been and that is what LSU needs to keep the legacy that
Sue Gunter

Sacramento Kings
, chosen 14th overall he and spent his first year in the NBA with the Kings and then two years with the
Atlanta Hawks
. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team, averaging 14.3 ppg.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity not only to work with Coach Chancellor, but to work with Yolanda and Bob (Starkey),” Mays said. “We have a unique situation were we come into a program that has already been established as a winning program. We look forward to enhancing that and taking it to the next level which is winning a championships and continuing the success over the years.”
Prior to her time spent at
TCU
, Wells-Broughton served as an assistant coach at Trinity Valley Community College for four seasons and was the head coach at Paul Quinn College in Dallas for two seasons.
Wells-Broughton earned a psychology degree from Grambling State University in 1995 and received a master’s in sports administration in 1997.
The
Houston
, Texas, native earned all-conference honors while at Grambling after being named a Kodak All-American during her playing days at Howard Junior College.
At GSU, Wells-Broughton helped the Lady Tigers earn their first NCAA Tournament bid in 1994.
“I am very excited about being here,” Wells-Broughton said. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime to work with Coach Chancellor, Coach Starkey, Travis Mays and the entire LSU staff. I have always felt like this would be a dream job for me and with Coach Chancellor providing me with this opportunity, it is truly a blessing for me and my family.”
