10 GAMES TO
REMEMBER
1. LSU 31, Arkansas 26 – Friday,
Nov. 24, 2006
All the while knowing they could
not get to the SEC Championship Game, the Tigers did the next best thing in
beating SEC West champion Arkansas. An exciting back and forth battle
was highlighted by Trindon Holliday’s 92-yard kickoff return for a
touchdown.
2. Lady Tigers 63,
Tennessee 54 – Sunday, March 3,
2007
In what turned out to be Pokey
Chatman’s final victory as the Lady Tigers’ head coach, LSU bolted out to a huge
first half lead en route to the stunning upset of eventual national champion
Tennessee. LSU
held national player of the year Candace Parker to four points.
3. LSU 66, Connecticut 49 –
Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007
It may have marked the beginning of
the end for John Brady’s Tigers, but LSU’s rousing win over UConn drew national
exposure. While the Tigers would 12 of their next 16 games, LSU’s win over the
18th-ranked Huskies is one to no doubt savor.
4. LSU 64, Texas A&M 52 –
Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006

four points.
5. LSU 28, Tennessee 24 – Saturday,
Nov. 4, 2006
JaMarcus Russell was well-known for
a string of dramatic comebacks, but none was sweeter than his last second drive
leading to a 28-24 win over Tennessee, only the
Tigers second-ever win in Knoxville. Russell’s game-winning pass to Early Doucet came with just nine seconds left on the clock.
6. Lady Tigers 73,
Connecticut 50 – Monday, March 26,
2007
Talk about making a statement, the
Lady Tigers rode a 23-point performance by Sylvia Fowles in hammering No. 4
UConn to advance to the program’s fourth straight Final Four.
7. LSU 41, Notre Dame 14 –
Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007
Many people predicted it and it
came to pass. Lots of folks said Notre dame was in over their head coming into
the Superdome to play LSU. They were right. JaMarcus Russell put on a clinic as
the Tigers embarrassed the Irish 41-14, Notre Dame’s 10th straight
bowl loss.
8. LSU 3, Tennessee 2 – Sunday,
April 29, 2007
For the third time in the program’s
history, Tiger softball defeated the No. 1 team in the country. LSU grabbed an
early lead and held off top-ranked Tennessee before a national television
audience on ESPN2.
9. Penn State def. LSU 3-2 (30-32, 24-30, 30-23,
30-23, 15-6) – Saturday, Aug. 26, 2007
The Tigers rallied from a 2-0
deficit to force a fifth game with No. 2 Penn State before running out of gas.
It was arguably the best effort in Fran
Flory’s tenure at LSU.
10. LSU 66, Florida 56 – Saturday,
Feb. 24, 2007
LSU was down and out. The chances
of LSU even making it to the postseason were grim. But it didn’t deter the
