Lonnie Pryor was lucky enough to grow up in one of the most powerful states in terms of college football, and now his time is nearing to join the game he has always been such a fan of.
“I love college football,” Pryor said. “The energy and everything is great. I just am taking it all in.”
The nation’s No. 17 ranked running back is pulling in all of the offers that come with talent like Pryor’s.
While the list of colleges battling for Pryor’s decision was narrowed by the four-star last week to four: Florida State, LSU, Georgia and Clemson, Pryor has always seen two teams lead the pack.
“It has been Florida State and LSU pretty much the entire time,” Pryor said. “Nothing has changed.”
Of course, the Seminoles have been building on Pryor for some time.
“Florida State is my lifelong school that I have always followed,” Pryor said. “It has been a dream of mine to play there, so when the offer came from [Florida State] it just put them at the top.”
Yet, Pryor will continue his recruitment and let things play out, enjoying every bit that the process has to offer.
“I made the plan to come to this camp a while back, and this was me honoring that commitment,” Pryor said. “Coming to Baton Rouge is always a fun time. The people are so passionate about the state. There is one thing that I can say from my visits to LSU: the people make me feel at home.”
With no rush to make a decision, the Okeechobee-native plans to come to Baton Rouge again in the fall.
“I am going to hold off on my decision for a while and take a couple of official visits,” Pryor said. “I want to see Tiger Stadium, so I am going to come down for the Georgia game. My last visit will be the Florida State game at Florida.”
