"[Texas] Tech and Arkansas have offered, and I am hearing from a lot of other schools," Harris said. "Right now Texas and Oklahoma are on me strong, as well as LSU, California, USC, Oregon, Michigan, Florida State and Florida."
The early attention for Harris is a result of all of the hard work he has put in and what he has accomplished over his career.
Coaches took notice of the standout performer during his junior campaign, when he registered 43 catches for 581 yards and six touchdowns. It was his second season in a row to lead Naaman Forest in all three receiving categories.
Despite picking up the early offers and with interest increasing by the week, however, Harris is going to take things slowly and do his homework over the next several months.
"It's early so I am just about to start learning about each school from here on out," Harris said. "I am definitely in no rush to make a decision anytime soon, so everyone should get a look."
Harris has two early offers
The six-foot-three, 195 pound Harris had previously mentioned that USC would lead early if they offered, though the interest in other schools remains almost on par.
"I really want to look into a few schools in particular, and LSU is one of them," he said. "I have just always been a fan, and they have had a lot of success recently. They are one of the schools that you think of when winning comes to your mind. I have kept my eye on them, so I am most definitely taking a visit down there.
"I am also going to look a little more into Oklahoma," he added. "Then I am going to go down to Texas again and then get back over to Tech. Those are the plans for the spring and summer as of right now."
With the Rangers season ending in the Texas 5A playoffs with a 16-9 loss to Copperas Cove, the same team that went on to put out Tiger commitment Russell Shepard's Cypress Ridge squad, the Garland-native is ready to gear up for an even bigger senior season.
"We started off rough, but ended the year at 10-2," Harris said. "We had a new quarterback, so I had to take some time to get a feel for him. We played pretty well in the end, but we just kept hitting rough spots and it eventually cost us.
"Next season should be another good year for us, though I might have to make the move to quarterback. Right now I am planning on being a receiver for us, but we will see where they need me when we get back out there."
