California CB will visit LSU
"My favorites would be LSU, Oregon and probably Cal (California) but I really don't have a leader, leader right now," Green told Tiger Rag.
Nick Saban had hoped that Green would take his official trip to Baton Rouge during the season but things did not work out for a good reason.
"I was supposed to take a visit for the last home game but we were still in our playoffs," said Green. "We had practice on Saturday and it was an important practice. We ended up winning our section championship and finished 11-3."
Now that his senior season has come to an end, Green looked back on his overall performance and gave it thumbs up.
"I had a pretty good season this year all-around," he said. "I think I had five picks this year but that was due to our defensive line. They didn't give the quarterback time to throw the ball. We actually had a great defensive line."
If this comes down to an LSU/Oregon battle like it seems then he will have a tough decision on his hand because both schools have a lot to offer.
"LSU was the first school to talk to me and to make me an offer," Green said. "I've been following LSU for about two to three years now and they've had a good solid program for a while now. I wish I could have taken my visit during the season but I can't wait to get down there. I've heard a lot of good things about the campus and the city. It's a great program and it's SEC football."
What about Oregon?
"I'm looking forward to seeing the campus and to see what the school has to offer academic-wise," said Green. "I also want to see the coaching staff and the football players just to see how nice they are and how closely gelled they are as a team."
For now, Tiger fans are waiting to see how his visit to Oregon goes this weekend but do not expect a surprise commitment unless something out of the ordinary arises.
"I'm just trying to take everything in and really trying to close it down to a couple of schools that I am really interested in," Green said. "I plan to make my decision that following week of my last trip."
Sonny's View: Green was one of the most well-mannered and polite recruits I have ever interviewed. He is fully qualified to play as a freshman and he would be a great addition to the Class of 2003. Rick Clausen is one of his good friends and he is also one of LSU's biggest recruiters right now.
