Allen’s 13-1 senior season….. “It was really fun. I enjoyed it. We didn’t finish up how we would have liked to finish up. We made it to the semifinals but lost in the game before state [31-24 to Hillsboro]. It all turned out for the best, though.”

Two-sport athlete….. “I ran track. I did the 100-meter dash, shot put and discus. It was just to keep in shape.”

Was there a runner up to LSU….. “Not really. I just looked for the best school and LSU came out on top. After LSU, there really wasn’t another team. I just knew I wanted to go to LSU. I love everything about it.”

Decommitting from Tennessee….. “The truth is I was thinking about decommitting way before they decided to make a change with Phillip Fulmer.”

On his future teammates….. “We have a lot of nice characters on the team. It feels like a family.”

Allen already knows many coaches and players….. “I’ve gotten to know Coach Porter, Coach Miles and Charles Scott pretty well. I’m friends with Russell Shepard, Rueben Randle, Chris Davenport and a bunch more.”

Phase two of the offseason workouts….. “It’s going good. I’m just running and lifting weights, trying to get ready for June. I feel like it’s going to be a lot of hard work, I’ll be honest.”

On his academic status….. “I’m all set to go. My ACT score is a 21, and my GPA is a 3.0.”

Jersey number….. “I’ll be wearing 33 this year.”

Moving up to Baton Rouge….. “I’ll be down there on May 29th. I’m staying with some friends then moving whenever it’s time to move in. I have no clue who I’ll be rooming with. I haven’t talked to coach about that.”

Allen’s playing style….. “I love to hit. Playing fullback, you have to hit. I like running the ball, too. I just want to contribute to the team. I want to do what we need to do to win.”

On his role as a freshman….. “Coach Porter told me I’ll come in and could start as a freshman. I just need to get in there and get a feel for it. I just need to get it down pat, and I’ll be alright.”

Random fact about Allen….. “I go to church a lot. I’m Baptist. I go to church every Sunday and Wednesday. People wouldn’t really expect that from me.”

Favorite food….. “Cheeseburgers. I eat cheeseburgers a lot.”

Movie….. “300.”

On pro sports…. “I watch more basketball than I do football. The LA Lakers are my favorite team, and my favorite player is Kobe Bryant.”

Will the Lakes and Cavs meet for the championship….. “I think so. It’s going to be a head banger right there.”

Memo to Tiger fans….. “Keep doing what they do. Keep supporting LSU. I believe we are going to be the best.”
