| Kevin Minter finished his sophomore season as a two-year starter with the Patriots. He had 154 tackles, playing defensive end.
He finished his junior season (9-3) with 137 tackles and six sacks playing as a middle linebacker.
The senior had 113 tackles, recording nineteen in a championship game runner-up effort. Minter and his teammages allowed just over nine points per game in their 12-3 season. They had seven games where they allowed the opponent under seven points including four shutouts.
Minter was honored by the AJC and GSWA 5
A First Team All-State. He was a finalist for the first high school Butkus Award given to a linebacker, Mobile Press Register's Super Southeast 120.
Minter says he benches 340 pounds, squats 575 and power cleans 320. He also reports a 32-inch vertical jump.
Minter reports a 3.1 core GPA and is taking the SAT on March 1.
Minter: "I'm a good run stopper and pass rusher. I hit the holes real well and I move downhill fast. I'm definitely very aggressive.
"I still want to work on my pass drops and on getting a bit faster. I'd like to be able to read and react to the pass faster too."
