| Vinson could see time on either side of the ball but is slated to get his first look on defense. He played safety at Newman but is projected to play corner at the next level. He will need to get used to playing on the line and work on his jams but once he gets some reps he should be fine as he has very loose hips and can change directions on a dime. He could also see time at WR if called upon as he’s very elusive in the open field. |
| Biography: |
| Ronnie Vinson wrapped up his junior campaign with over 800 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns, and over 450 yards receiving with two more scores. He also was in on 75 stops from his safety position, and was a LSWA Class 4A All-State selection. Vinson says he can bench 285-pounds, squat 435 and has a 35-inch vertical jump.
Vinson says he’d like to major in business and reports a 2.8 core GPA and took the SAT in February. “I’m not sure what the score was. But my counselor said that I’m qualified so I did okay.”
Vinson: “I feel like I can run with any receiver. I react well to the ball and I’m great at run support.
“I’m pretty elusive when I have the ball on offense.
“I’m working on changing direction better. I want to improve my footwork and my overall technique.”
