Has been the starting point guard at LSU for three seasons, leading LSU to the NCAA Tournament in 2000 and the NIT in 2002 ... Has started at point guard in 96 of 97 career games and already in the top 10 in career minutes played, more than 1,000 career points, tied for second in 3-pointersschool treys made and in the school top 10 in career assists and steals.
JUNIOR SEASON (2001-2002)
Tied for second on the team in scoring with his best average of 13.4 points per game ... He also averaged 3.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game ... One of just two players to start and play all 34 games during the season, averaging 34.1 minutes per game ... Averaged a team best 21.5 points in the two NIT games, putting together games of 18 points at Iowa and a career-high 25 against Ball State ... Double-doubled in the second-round game, also grabbing a career high 10 rebounds ... Topped the 1,000-point mark in scoring at LSU against Georgia (Jan. 23), making him the 32nd Tiger to top 1,000-career points ... Finished the season with 1,107 career points, tied for 24th on the LSU scoring list ... Finished the year ranked 16th in the SEC in scoring, ninth in assists and 10th in the league in steals ... Biggest basket of the year came on a driving layup with 0.7 seconds remaining that was the difference in LSU's 61-59 victory at Hofheinz Pavilion against Houston (Nov. 28) ... Had 20 points at Arizona, including 5-of-5 from three-point range (Dec. 20) ... At that time, he became the first LSU player to go 5-for-5 from three-point range in a game ... Had 18 games in double figures, including two of 20 points or more, including a career-high tying 21 points in the season opener against Louisiana Monroe (Nov. 20) ... Had season best nine assists against Louisiana-Monroe and eight against both Texas Southern (Dec. 8) and McNeese State (Dec. 13) ... He had 22 games with five or more assists ... Third in the SEC in steals average at 1.97 per game and third in assists at 4.07.
